Our Mission
Seen & Heard are a not for profit (CIC). We exist to support schools to provide healthy and nurturing environments, and to support the emotional wellbeing of those who have attended boarding or independent day schools, and their families.
All of our services to schools are delivered on a not for profit basis, with revenues being directed back into wellbeing support services for adults and young people.
We are a committed group of ex-boarding school pupils who understand these unique institutional environments, and we believe in the power of compassion, connection, and in creating environments where all stakeholders can thrive.
Seen & Heard Schools: Leading the Way in Wellbeing and Safeguarding for Independent Education
Independent and boarding schools across the UK are at a crossroads. Academic results are stronger than ever, but the pressures on pupils, staff, and leadership teams have never been greater. Burnout, safeguarding challenges, increased parental expectations, and the need for truly holistic education are front and centre. Enter Seen & Heard Schools – a pioneering, not-for-profit consultancy that is reshaping wellbeing, welfare, and safeguarding in the independent education sector.
Founded by former boarding school pupils and education specialists, Seen & Heard Schools brings lived experience, professional expertise, and compassion to the heart of its work. The team includes social care leaders, educational consultants, trauma coaches, safeguarding specialists, lawyers, and psychologists. Supported by a panel of over 50 experts, including organisations like the NSPCC and Survivors Trust, Seen & Heard offers schools an unrivalled depth of knowledge and practical solutions.
What We Do
At Seen & Heard, our mission is simple: to help schools create safe, nurturing, and forward-thinking environments for every member of their community. Our services are built around three key pillars:
- Consultancy and Support for Schools – We partner with governing bodies and leadership teams to enhance pupil and staff wellbeing, strengthen safeguarding practices, and respond effectively to complex welfare issues. From trauma-informed classrooms to suicide awareness, policy creation to alumni support, we offer comprehensive, cutting-edge guidance.
- Specialist Programmes for Pupils and Staff – Our workshops and curricula are designed to develop emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-awareness alongside academic success. Whether it’s emotion coaching for pupils, leadership training for staff, or wellbeing audits, we deliver tools for growth and prevention, not just crisis management.
- Unique Stakeholder Surveys – Understanding the real experiences of pupils, parents, staff, and governors is essential. Our independent wellbeing and welfare survey provides schools with unfiltered insights, actionable findings, and supportive solutions – a true health check for your community.
Why It Matters
Today’s schools are educating tomorrow’s leaders. In a world of rapid technological change, AI-driven economies, and rising social and emotional demands, academic excellence alone is not enough. Schools must also prioritise emotional education, safety, and care. Seen & Heard Schools helps institutions meet these challenges head-on, offering strategies that reduce stress and absence, improve learning outcomes, and build trust with parents and alumni. As our flyer notes: Doing good is good business; complaints and bad press are deeply damaging.
Looking Ahead
The opportunity is clear. Schools that invest in wellbeing and safeguarding now will not only protect their communities but also create empowered, emotionally intelligent global citizens. Seen & Heard Schools is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, championing a future where every pupil feels seen, heard, and supported.
Our Flagship Service – The Seen & Heard Wellbeing & Welfare Stakeholder Survey
We offer a unique full school stakeholder survey focused on wellbeing, welfare and pastoral care.
This externally delivered and impartial survey process can form the foundation for any school that wants to take pastoral care, wellbeing and welfare of all stakeholders seriously. It delivers meaningful and actionable insight from pupils, parents, staff, SLT and governors, alongside thoughtful recommendations and recommended providers/suppliers for building on successes, or solutions for challenging areas.
The results are collated into an impactful and action-oriented report of findings, which are then presented back to the school alongside recommendations to do more/better for what’s working, or to address areas needing improvement.
To help recommend and deliver solutions we draw from a panel of 50+ specialist educational wellbeing and welfare providers including Emotion Coaching UK, Thrive Approach, Flourishing Education, Nurture UK, Curriculum For Life, Nicky Shaw Care & Learning, Zero No Bully, Trauma Informed Schools, and many more.
If your school has got an opportunity or challenge that can’t be solved by us or one of our panel, we’ll find the right provider for you! Taking the time and stress out of providing a nurturing and safe school environment for all stakeholders.
