Susie has many years of experience working in the NHS providing psychological support to adults, families, and groups. She has worked with people affected by their experiences at boarding school, e.g. abandonment/bullying, and has used EMDR to effectively heal trauma memories connected to traumatic boarding school experiences.
Susie qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2010 from Salomon’s Christchurch University and has developed her skills in trauma-focused therapy through further training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy), becoming an EMDR Europe Accredited Clinical Supervisor/Consultant in 2024. She also draws on ideas from psychodynamic therapy, schema therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy, amongst others. Susie works with a range of emotional and psychological concerns people may experience, including feeling lost, struggling with confidence and trusting others, overcoming trauma, including sexual and racial trauma, dissociation, mood swings, complex grief, and hearing voices. Susie believes that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of any effective therapy and works hard to come alongside her clients and understand the world from their perspective. She holds an awareness of the impact of trauma and adversity on the body and embraces the role of body-focused practice, like yoga and nutrition, in a person’s journey into wellbeing.
Susie works with clients online and at her practice in Balham, London
